New ICAC TV drama series to make debut tomorrow

A new five-episode TV drama series " ICAC Investigators 2004 ", jointly produced by the ICAC and Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB), will make its debut tomorrow (Sunday).
To mark the launch of the drama series, a premiere of the director's cut of the first episode on passport scam was held last evening for over 1,000 guests, including chairmen and members of the ICAC advisory committees, community leaders and ICAC Club mem bers, at the Jockey Club Auditorium of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
In his welcoming remarks at the premiere, ICAC Commissioner, Mr Raymond Wong Hung-chiu, said the production of TV drama based on real ICAC cases would help raise the public's awareness of the evils of corruption and garner their support for ICAC's anti-co rruption work.
"The latest ICAC drama series will show how ICAC officers, who keep on upgrading their professional skills, pursue the corrupt relentlessly through a proactive investigative strategy with international assistance," he added.
The new ICAC drama series will be broadcast on TVB Jade at 9:35 p.m. on five consecutive Sundays starting from tomorrow.
Featuring anti-graft fighters in action, the series comprises five one-hour episodes adapted from real corruption cases that the ICAC has successfully exposed.
To create a real-life setting, some scenes of the episodes were shot on locations inside ICAC offices.
The five episodes are: " Battle of Wits " (passport scam), " Gambler's Fallacy" (mobile phone smuggling case), " Malfeasance" (misconduct in public office case), " Taxing Investigations" (taxation-related corruption case) and " Piling up Troubles " (short-piling scam).
The drama series are directed by renowned film directors Herman Yau, Patrick Leung, Dante Lam and Alex Cheung.
The cast include Best Actor Award-winner Anthony Wong and other TV artistes such as Shek Sau, Alex Fong, Maggie Siu, Christine Ng, Yoyo Mong, Cheung Chi-lam, Ngai Chun-kit, Michael Tong, Lau Hoi-wai, Edwin Siu and Samuel Chan.
