In response to press enquiries, an ICAC spokesman today (Saturday) confirmed that a Detective Senior Inspector of Police (DSIP) had been arrested for alleged corruption.

Also arrested in the ICAC operation mounted yesterday were DSIP's wife, and two suspected senior office bearers of a triad society.

The arrested DSIP was alleged to have accepted advantages from senior triad members as rewards for offering protection to their illegal activities.

The Police have rendered full assistance to the ICAC during its investigation.

The arrestees are being detained by the ICAC. Enquiries are continuing.
