ICAC fosters stronger liaison with Mainland counterparts

The Commissioner of the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), Mr Raymond Wong Hung-chiu, will visit the Guangdong Provincial People's Procuratorate (GDPP) and other government organisations to exchange experiences on anti-corruption work.

The Commissioner, accompanied by senior ICAC representatives, departed this (Tuesday) morning for Guangzhou for a three-day official visit.

Apart from GDPP, the delegation will also call on the Guangdong Provincial People's Government, the Guangdong Supervision Bureau, the Guangdong Public Security Bureau, the Tianhe District People's Procuratorate as well as the Office of the Government of H ong Kong Special Administrative Region in Guangdong Province.

In recent years, ICAC Commissioners and other senior officers have been paying regular visits to the Mainland procuratorates and other government bodies.

Apart from operational cooperation, the ICAC has stepped up cooperation with the Mainland authorities on the educational front.

Since 2000, the ICAC has arranged a total of about 1,000 talks on Hong Kong's anti-corruption work for over 32,000 Mainland officials visiting Hong Kong.

Other members of the ICAC delegation include Mr Thomas Chan Chi-sun, Director of Corruption Prevention; Mrs Erika Hui Lam Yin-ming, Director of Community Relations; and Mr Ryan Wong Sai-chiu, Assistant Director of Operations.
