Mainland's top judge visits ICAC

An eight-member delegation, led by Mr Xiao Yang, President of the Supreme People's Court (SPC), today (Friday) called on the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC).
Welcoming the delegation, ICAC Commissioner, Mr Raymond Wong Hung-chiu, said the visit enabled both sides to further strengthen liaison and mutual understanding.
Mr Wong and heads of the Commission's three departments –'96 Head of Operations, Mr Daniel Li Ming-chak; Director of Corruption Prevention, Mr Thomas Chan Chi-sun; and Director of Community Relations, Mrs Erika Hui Lam Yin-ming, briefed the delegation on ICAC’s anti-corruption work and the latest corruption situation.
In recent years, ICAC Commissioners and other senior officers have been paying reciprocal visits to the Mainland's judicial bodies, procuratorates and other government departments as part of the efforts to maintain close liaison and co-operation.
Other members of the delegation include: President of Guangdong Provincial Higher People's Court, Mr Lu Botao; Senior SPC Judges, Ms Shao Wenhong and Mr Yan Maokun; Director of SPC's Office of the Steering Group on Work relating to Hong Kong, Macao and Ta iwan, Mr Liu Hehua; SPC Judge, Ms Gao Shawei and Deputy Head of SPC's General Office, Mr He Jing.
Mr Xiao is in Hong Kong at the joint invitation of the Chief Justice and the Secretary for Justice.
