The Commissioner of Independent Commissioner Against Corruption (ICAC), Mr Raymond Wong Hung-chiu, has led a delegation to visit the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SSP) and other Mainland authorities in Beijing to enhance mutual understanding and co-oper ation.

"The visit will further enhance co-operation and cement closer ties with our Mainland counterparts on the operational, prevention and community education fronts," Mr Wong said.

Apart from SSP, the delegation will also visit the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Supervision, the Ministry of Justice and the People's Procuratorate of Beijing during their visit.

The ICAC has maintained good co-operation with the Mainland authorities in fighting cross-boundary corruption.

In recent years, ICAC Commissioners and other senior officers have been paying regular visits to the Mainland procuratorates. Apart from operational liaison, co-operation on the educational front has also been stepped up.

Today, members of the delegation attended an international seminar entitled " Preventing Corruption and Promoting Integrity: From Strategy to Practice ", jointly organised by the SSP and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

ICAC's Director of Corruption Prevention, Mr Thomas Chan Chi-sun, was invited as one of the speakers to share with the seminar participants Hong Kong's experience in fighting corruption.

The delegation, also comprising Director of Community Relations, Mrs Erika Hui Lam Yin-ming; Assistant Director of Operations, Mr Ryan Wong Sai-chiu; and four other ICAC officers, will return to Hong Kong on Friday (December 10).
