ICAC booklets available for CE election candidates and agents

The ICAC will start distributing information booklets to help candidates and election agents of the Chief Executive (CE) Election better understand the provisions of the Elections (Corrupt and Illegal Conduct) Ordinance (ECICO) as the nomination for the e lection begins today (Friday).
Upon submission of nomination forms to the Returning Officer, candidates and their election agents will be given a copy of the information booklet as a general reference.
Apart from a gist of the ECICO, the booklet also includes a checklist of " Dos and Don'ts" as well as a " Questions and Answers" section covering various aspects of an election, including electioneering, voting, election donations and expenses.
A similar information booklet was sent out to all Election Committee (EC) members earlier.
Members of the public can browse and download the reference materials from the ICAC's CE Election webpage at http://www.icac.org.hk .
Meanwhile, a special hotline 2920 6530 has been set up to answer public enquiries concerning the electoral law and related issues during the election period. Any complaints can be lodged with the 24-hour ICAC Report Hotline 2526 6366 or reported to any re gional offices of the ICAC.
ICAC officers will also attend briefing sessions organised by the Electoral Affairs Commission for candidates and their election agents of the CE Election. Separate briefings can also be arranged for individual candidates and election agents upon request.
