One more defendant has been charged by the ICAC today (Wednesday) in connection with a corruption inquiry alleging bribery over food supplies to supermarkets.

David Wong Lit-keung, 43, formerly employed as a senior category supervisor of Wellcome Supermarkets (Wellcome) by Dairy Farm Company Limited, faces seven counts of agent accepting an advantage under Section 9(1)(b) of the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance, and four of dealing with property known to represent proceeds of an indictable offence under Section 25(1) of the Organized and Serious Crimes Ordinance.

The defendant, currently on ICAC bail, will appear before the Eastern Magistracy at 9:30 am tomorrow (Thursday) for plea taking.

The seven bribery charges allege Wong of accepting advantages from two suppliers of Wellcome between February and October this year in relation to the selling of meat and fish balls at Wellcome stores.

The remaining charges allege Wong of dealing sums of money represented proceeds of an indictable offence, namely agent accepting an advantage, between June and October this year.

ICAC investigation alleges that the suspected crime proceeds originated from chips offered by one of the suppliers and which the defendant had used for gambling.
