ICAC Commissioner visits Guangdong to strengthen ties with Mainland counterparts

The ICAC Commissioner, Mr Raymond Wong Hung-chiu, will today (Thursday) call on the Guangdong Provincial People's Procuratorate (GDPP) as part of the Commission's ongoing efforts to foster closer cooperation in graft fighting with its Mainland counterpart s.

A delegation led by Mr Wong will meet Chief Procurator of GDPP, Mr Zhang Xuejun and other GDPP senior officials to exchange experiences and latest anti-corruption initiatives in the two places.

Apart from operational co-operation through the Mutual Case Assistance Scheme established between the ICAC and the Mainland's procuratorate authorities, exchanges on the education and prevention fronts have continued to grow in recent years.

Last year, the ICAC arranged over 200 talks on Hong Kong's anti-corruption work for more than 6,000 visiting Mainland officials.

ICAC officers were also invited by the Mainland authorities to share Hong Kong's experience in formulating and implementing corruption prevention strategies on various occasions.

During a two-day visit to the Guangdong Province, the ICAC delegation will also meet officials from the Guangdong Supervision Bureau, the Guangdong Public Security Bureau and the Dongguang City People's Procuratorate.

Other members of the delegation include: Mrs Erika Hui Lam Yin-ming, Director of Community Relations; Mr Ricky Chu Man-kin, Assistant Director of Operations; and Mrs Jean Au Yeung Lui Miu-kwan, Assistant Director of Corruption Prevention.
