2006-7-3

ICAC Commissioner, Mr Raymond Wong Hung-chiu, earlier met representatives of parent-teachers associations to update them on the Commission's latest anti-corruption initiatives, including those targetted at young people.

At a meet-the-public session (MPS) with representatives from the Federation of Parent-Teacher Associations of Wong Tai Sin District (FPTA), Mr Wong revealed that the Commission would launch a website specially designed for young children to cultivate posi tive values amongst youngsters.

Currently, the ICAC runs a youth website, The Teensland , tailor-made for secondary school students. It has proved to be an effective means to disseminate positive values.

In recent years, the Commissioner noted, parents had been a close partner of the ICAC in promoting various youth education programmes.

During the session, FPTA representatives also discussed issues relating to tendering and procurement as well as acceptance of donations in organising school activities.

The Commissioner regularly attends these MPSs to meet face-to-face people from different sectors and brief them on ICAC's anti-corruption efforts.
