The following is a statement issued on behalf of Mr Raymond Wong Hung-chiu:
"In the past three years, it has been a great privilege for me to have been given the opportunity to head a top notch anti-corruption agency and work together with a dedicated team of highly professional colleagues who are fully committed to fighting corr uption in Hong Kong.
The Commission has continued to keep corruption in check through a three-pronged strategy of investigation, corruption prevention and community education. Hong Kong remains one of the least corrupt places in the world, with a clean government and a level playing field for doing business.
It is a great honour for me to be able to contribute to the worthwhile cause of keeping Hong Kong clean. And I am most impressed by the professionalism, commitment and perseverance of ICAC colleagues in discharging anti-corruption duties.
I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to ICAC colleagues for their commitment and hard work in battling corruption. I would also like to thank the community for their staunch support for anti-corruption work.
I have every confidence that under the leadership of my successor, the ICAC will continue to combat corruption effectively and impartially, with the full support of the community."
