New ICAC drama series to hit TV screen in September

A new TV drama series " ICAC Investigators 2007 " based on real corruption cases will hit the screen next month.
To launch the TV series, a preview session was held last evening for about 1,000 guests, including chairmen and members of the ICAC advisory committees, Legislative and District Council members, and community leaders, at the Jockey Club Auditorium of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
At the preview session, ICAC Commissioner Mr Timothy Tong Hin-ming said the TV drama, which was adapted from real ICAC cases, would allow the public to have a deeper understanding of ICAC’s investigation work and the challenges involved.
Jointly produced by the ICAC and Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB), the series will be aired on TVB Jade at 10:30 p.m. on five consecutive Saturdays starting from September 1.
Cases featured in the one-hour episodes are: i) " Prison Courier" (a bribery case involving a Correctional Services Department officer); ii) " Sand Castle" (a short-piling scam); iii) " Credit Unlimited" (a multi-million credit fraud scam); iv) " Out of Line ” (a misconduct in public office case involving a police officer) and v) " Empty Wagons " (a bribery and smuggling case involving a Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation staff).
" The Making of ICAC Investigators 2007" will be telecast on TVB Jade at 10:15 pm on August 25 (Saturday) to highlight the production work of the drama series.
The series are directed by renowned directors Herman Yau, Dante Lam, Joe Ma and Alex Cheung.
The cast include famous TV artistes such as Michael Miu, Danny Lee, Shirley Yeung, Sunny Chan, Anna Yau, Ron Ng, Liu Kai-chi, Michelle Yim, Wong Tak-pun, Fiona Yuen, Astrid Chan, Edmond Leung and Theresa Fu.
