Two former senior executives of architectural consultancy company charged for bribery over renovation project

Two former senior executives of an architectural consultancy company have been charged by the ICAC for allegedly soliciting and accepting advantages in relation to a renovation project supervised by the company.
Li Kin-kwok, 48, and Wong Yiu-keung, 41, respectively former managing director and former director of DTZ Debenham Tie Leung Project Services Limited (DTZ), both facing one count of conspiracy to solicit an advantage and one of agent accepting an advantag e, will appear at Kowloon City Magistracy at 9:30 am tomorrow (Wednesday).
The defendants are alleged of conspiring with a design manager of DTZ to solicit an advantage, namely a commission consisting of 2% of the contract sum payable to Grandway Construction and Design Limited (Grandway) in respect of a renovation project, from an operator and an employee of Grandway.
The alleged advantage was believed to be reward for the defendants showing or having shown favour to Grandway in supervising the renovation works conducted by the latter.
The defendants, through the assistance of the design manager of DTZ, are also alleged to have accepted $90,000 from the above operator and employee of Grandway for a similar reason.
The alleged offences took place between April and September 2006.
The defendants have been granted ICAC bail, pending their court appearances tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the operator and employee of Grandway were earlier charged by the ICAC for allegedly conspiring to offer an advantage to agents.
