ICAC chief calls for continuous support from DCs for anti-graft work

ICAC Commissioner Mr Timothy Tong Hin-ming said the Commission would enhance liaison and cooperation with the District Councils (DCs) and appeal for their continuous support in implementing various integrity projects.

The Commissioner was speaking to DC chairmen and vice-chairmen today (Tuesday) during their familiarisation visit to the new ICAC Building.

Mr Tong said DCs had been a close partner of the Commission in fostering a culture of probity in the community.

At the meeting, Mr Tong also briefed the chairmen and vice-chairmen on the latest corruption scene, and introduced ICAC’s major corruption prevention programmes, including the territory-wide clean building management programme and the clean election campaign for the upcoming Legislative Council Election.

He appealed for the continuous support of District Councils on ICAC’s corruption preventive initiatives.

Also joining the meeting today were Director of Home Affairs, Mrs Pamela Tan Kam Mi-wah; ICAC’s Director of Community Relations, Mr Thomas Chan Chi-sun; Acting Director of Corruption Prevention, Mr Ricky Chu Man-kin and District Officers.
