ICAC interactive drama to spread probity message among youngsters

2009-5-31

About 150 young people yesterday (Saturday) participated in an ICAC’s interactive drama to explore the evils of corruption and integrity issues encountered in their daily life.

ICAC’s Programme Coordinator (Youth), Ms Evalina Yim Hau-wan, said that drama groups had been commissioned in recent years to produce interactive drama to spread anti-corruption messages amongst secondary school students.

Drawing reference from real ICAC cases, these drama performances have been well-received by students. Since 1999, over 1,400 shows have been performed at secondary schools across the territory, reaching more than 200,000 students.

To reach out to more young people, a special performance was staged this year for youth organisations and other community bodies.

Held at the Hong Kong Centre for Youth Development in Chai Wan this Saturday, the drama highlighted various scenarios in which young people might face the temptations to use bribery to resolve problems. The audience was engaged in interactive activities and discussions with the actors and actresses.

During the performance, a member of the ICAC’s Citizens Advisory Committee on Community Relations, Lee Luen-fai; artistes Fiona Sit Hoi-kei, Chau Pak-ho and Raymond Cho Wing-lim, also shared their personal experience on integrity issues.
