‘All for Integrity’ for a corruption-free Hong Kong

ICAC Commissioner Mr Simon Peh Yun-lu today (June 24) called on members of the public to help spread the anti-corruption message in their families, at schools and work places as well as in their local communities.
Receiving visitors from community groups of the Kowloon West and New Territories West districts at the ICAC Open Day this afternoon, Mr Peh said while the ICAC was obligated to maintain Hong Kong’s hard-earned reputation as one of the most corruption-free places, every citizen also shared the responsibility of upholding the core value of integrity and remaining vigilant.
“By opening up the ICAC’s facilities, we hope members of the public will have a deeper understanding of our anti-corruption work and become our partners in promulgating probity and integrity amongst their peers and circles,” said Mr Peh.
The Commissioner noted that while Hong Kong was lauded as one of the cleanest places by renowned international institutes, the ICAC could not afford to be complacent.
“Every recognition the ICAC received is a constant reminder to us of the importance of continued community education in fostering a probity culture and maintaining Hong Kong’s competitive edge.
“With the staunch support and trust from the public, the ICAC will continue to carry out its anti-corruption mission with vigour and commitment,” Mr Peh added.
Visitors today toured various facilities at the ICAC Building, including the mock Video Interview Rooms, Identification Parade Suite and the Exhibition Hall. Firearms used by ICAC officers were also on display.
Together with the visitors and members of ICAC’s advisory committees, the Commissioner today also kicked off a territory-wide bus parade campaign, one of the highlight events under the Commission’s multi-year “All for Integrity” education and publicity programme.
With the support of the 18 District Councils and various district organisations, a decorated double-decker bus will later tour around the city to disseminate anti-corruption messages.
The “All for Integrity” ICAC Open Day 2017 is held on two consecutive weekends starting from June 17 as part of the Commission’s continuous effort to enhance transparency and public understanding of its anti-graft work.
Over 5,000 tickets have been distributed earlier to members of the public through computer balloting for admission on June 17, 18 and 25 respectively.
