In response to press enquiries, an ICAC spokesman today (Friday) confirms that two persons have been arrested on suspicion of violating the Elections (Corrupt and Illegal Conduct) Ordinance in relation to the executive committee election of a rural commit tee.

The two persons, who were arrested yesterday, are a candidate of the said election and a district councillor.

Inquiries are continuing.
