2011-4-29

In response to media enquiries, an ICAC spokesman today (Friday) confirmed that a Principal Investigator was arrested on Wednesday by the Commission’s internal investigation and monitoring group on suspicion of breaching the law.

The officer concerned has been interdicted from duties since yesterday. Enquiries are continuing.

“The ICAC attaches utmost importance to the conduct of its staff and expects the highest standard of integrity of them,” the spokesman said.

“The Commission will not tolerate any violation of law and breach of internal discipline. Should any staff misconduct himself/herself, the matter will be dealt with in strict accordance with law and laid down procedures,” the spokesman added.
