Over 100 youngsters commended for dedicated efforts in promoting integrity

Over 100 youngsters from ICAC’s tertiary programme i-League were yesterday (Saturday) commended for their dedicated efforts in spreading probity messages on campuses and in their daily lives.

Speaking at the Annual Gathering of i-League cum Finale of ICAC Ambassador Programme, ICAC’s Director of Community Relations Ms Julie Mu Fee-man said the “Y-Generation” of the 80s and 90s was characterized by their creativity and adaptability.

“We hope young people will make the best use of these attributes in promoting the anti-corruption cause, and have a positive influence on the community by becoming ethical leaders,” said Ms Mu.

At the gathering, prizes were also presented to 16 youngsters who had come up with distinguished suggestions of the Chinese title of i-League , which comprises over 300 former and serving ICAC Ambassadors recruited from various tertiary institutions.

Under the programme, training workshops and other activities were organised for ICAC Ambassadors to learn first hand about integrity related issues and Hong Kong’s latest anti-graft initiatives.

The Ambassadors also volunteered in various campus activities, such as exhibitions and competitions, to disseminate anti-corruption messages.

A four-day exchange tour to Beijing will also be arranged for the Ambassadors later this month. They will visit the local court, supervision and procuratorate authorities and will meet academics and students from the Tsinghua University and Peking Univer sity.
