New ICAC drama series to hit the screen in November

The latest season of “ ICAC Investigators 2011 ”, jointly produced by the ICAC and the Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK), will hit local television next month.
To mark the launch of the drama series, a premiere of “A Blind Eye”, based on an ICAC case of corruption-facilitated insurance scam, was held last night at the Kowloonbay International Trade & Exhibition Centre.
Over 1,700 guests, including members of the ICAC advisory committees, community leaders, representatives from public organisations, as well as ICAC Ambassadors and ICAC Club members, attended the event.
In his welcoming remarks at the premiere, ICAC Commissioner Dr Timothy Tong Hin-ming said the latest series, adapted from real ICAC cases, highlighted the dire consequences of committing corruption offences.
He added that with the participation of renowned directors and seasoned artistes, the drama series was both entertaining and inspiring.
Also officiating at the premiere last night were Director of Broadcasting, Mr Roy Tang Yun-kwong; Deputy Director of the State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television, Ms Wang Lili and Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong SAR, Mr Huang Lanfa.
Also released at the premiere was the theme song of the drama series, sung by well-known singer Jacky Cheung.
The new ICAC drama series will be broadcast on:
TVB Jade at 7:30 p.m. on five consecutive Saturdays starting from November 5;
now TV now Hong Kong 100 at 8:00 pm on five consecutive Sundays starting from November 6;
Cable TV Entertainment Channel and HD212 at 8:00 pm on five consecutive Wednesdays starting from November 9.
Meanwhile, “ The Making of ICAC Investigators 2011 ” will be telecast on TVB Jade at 7:30 pm on October 29 (Saturday).
The new ICAC drama series will also reach Mainland TV audience later this year through the China Central Television.
The latest series show cases: i) “A Blind Eye” (a cross-boundary life insurance scam); ii) “Off Line” (a police misconduct case); iii) “The Heart of Darkness” (a bribery case involving the general manager of a fast food restaurant); iv) “Nightmare of Gold” (a fraud case involving a listed company); v) “Private Patients” (a misconduct case involving the dean of a university's medical department).
The series are directed by film directors Dante Lam and Raymond Yip Wai-man; RTHK directors Ha Kwai-cheung and Yu Sai-man, and ICAC’s director Alex Cheung.
The cast includes Julian Cheung, Maggie Siu, Ken Chan, Kenneth Tsang Kong, Teddy Robin, Sammul Chan, William So, Theresa Lee, Nnadia Chan, Endy Chow, Louis Cheung, Tat Tik, Kary Ng, Chung King-fai and Coco Chiang.
