2012-5-27
Over 200 citizens were today (Sunday) commended for their dedicated voluntary services in organising and promoting ICAC’s probity programmes.
Chairman of ICAC’s Citizens Advisory Committee on Community Relations, Professor John Leong Chi Yan, appealed for their continuous participation in anti-corruption activities, such as the support clean election campaign for the upcoming Legislative Council Election.
Addressing the ICAC Club’s 15th anniversary awards presentation ceremony today, Professor Leong noted, “Last year, 304 Club members had clocked up over 2,400 service hours. In the past 10-odd years, the hours of service were accumulated to over 36,000, approximately tantamount to a full-time employee’s total working hours in 15 years.”
The ICAC Club is a voluntary service set up in 1997 to promote civic participation in anti-corruption work in Hong Kong. It now has 1200 members from all walks of life, of which 150 are founding members.
