ICAC chief visits Guangdong to foster ties in graft fight

ICAC Commissioner Simon Peh Yun-lu today (Friday) led a delegation to Guangdong to foster closer ties with the province’s anti-corruption authorities and exchange the latest development in anti-corruption work.

During his stay in Guangdong, the Commissioner will also attend a prize presentation ceremony of a cross-boundary animation and comics competition.

Mr Peh today met with Chief Procurator of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Procuratorate Mr Zheng Hong, and Director of Supervision Department, Mr Lin Haokun.

Mr Peh told the Chief Procurator that following the implementation of the Framework Agreement on Hong Kong/Guangdong Co-operation, the two places had stepped up collaboration in strengthening exchanges on mutual case assistance, as well as exploring furth er co-operation on preventive education including the launching of a graft prevention guidebook and related seminars.

The ICAC chief will attend the prize presentation ceremony of the first cross-boundary anti-corruption animation and comics competition to be held tomorrow. The competition is jointly organised by anti-corruption authorities in Guangdong, Hong Kong and M acao.

In addition, Mr Peh will meet with Commissioner of the Macao Commission Against Corruption, Dr Fong Man-chong, who is also in Guangdong for the award presentation ceremony.

ICAC officials accompanying Mr Peh on his Guangdong visit include Director of Community Relations, Ms Julie Mu Fee-man; Acting Assistant Director of Community Relations, Mrs Helen Lee Ching Po-han; Principal Investigator of the Operations Department, Mr S imon Ho Kwok-keung; and Principal Corruption Prevention Officer, Mr Nelson Chan Ping-man.

The delegation will conclude its visit on Sunday morning (July 29).
