ICAC Club members lauded for dedicated service in anti-graft activities

Over 250 dedicated ICAC Club members were today (Sunday) commended for their voluntary services in organising and promoting ICAC’s probity programmes.
Chairman of ICAC’s Citizens Advisory Committee on Community Relations, Professor John Leong Chi-yan, appealed for Club members’ continuous participation in upcoming anti-corruption programmes, including various district activities to mark the Commission’s 40th anniversary.
Speaking at the ICAC Club’s anniversary awards presentation ceremony, Professor Leong noted that from October 2011 to 2012, 369 Club members had clocked up over 3,200 service hours. Of the 15 members awarded the Long Service Award, one had accumulated up to 237 hours of service i n the past five years.
The ICAC Club is a voluntary group set up in 1997 to promote civic participation in anti-corruption work in Hong Kong. It now has over 1,400 members from different strata of the community.
