Open Day for ICAC 40th Anniversary invites applications

To mark its 40 th anniversary in 2014, the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) will open up some of its facilities for the public to learn more about Hong Kong’s history in fighting corruption and the Commission’s integrity building efforts.

The ICAC Open Day will be held at the ICAC Building, 303 Java Road, North Point on February 15 (Saturday), 16 (Sunday) and 23 (Sunday), 2014.

Visitors will be given a 90-minute guided tour in Cantonese to various ICAC facilities, including the Exhibition Hall, mock Video Interview Rooms, Identification Parade Suite and firearms display.

Online application for admission tickets will commence tomorrow (December 9) on the ICAC website ( www.icac.org.hk ). Members of the public can also obtain application forms from the Ground Floor of the ICAC Building at 303 Java Road, North Point, or any ICAC Regional Offices. Completed application forms shall be returned to the ICAC with a self-addressed stamped envelope. Deadline for application is December 24, 2013.

A total of about 5,300 tickets will be issued for the event. Should the number of applications exceed the capacity, admission tickets will be allotted through computer balloting. Applicants will be notified of the results before February 11, 2014. Online applicants will receive email notifications and electronic tickets, while postal applicants will be notified and will receive tickets by post.

Each successful applicant will be entitled to a maximum of four tickets. Participants must attend the guided tours according to the time slots specified on their tickets. Unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by post or email.

The ICAC Open Day will run on February 15 (9:00 am to 7:30 pm), February 16 (9:00 am to 6:30 pm), and February 23 (9:00 am to 6:30 pm).
