IO chairman charged for alleged breach of POBO by disclosing ICAC investigation

A chairman of the incorporated owners (IO) of a residential estate has been charged by the ICAC today (Thursday) for allegedly breaching the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance (POBO) by disclosing details of an ICAC investigation.
Yeung Hon-sing, 51, chairman of the IO of Cheerful Garden (CG), faces one count of disclosing details of an ICAC investigation, contrary to Section 30(1)(b) of the POBO.
The defendant will appear in the Eastern Magistracy at 9:30 am next Monday (March 24) for plea.
At the material time, the defendant was the chairman of the IO of CG, a residential estate at Chai Wan.
The charge alleges that on April 18, 2013, the defendant, with suspicion that an investigation in respect of an offence alleged or suspected to have been committed under the POBO was taking place, without lawful authority or reasonable excuse, disclosed d etails of such investigation to residents of CG.
