2014-5-20

A man has been charged by the ICAC with impersonating an officer of the anti-corruption agency in letters to a department store.

Kwan Shun-ho, 46, unemployed, who was charged yesterday (Monday), faces three counts of falsely pretending to be an officer of the ICAC, contrary to Section 13C(a) of the ICAC Ordinance.

The defendant, currently on ICAC bail, will appear in the Fanling Magistracy at 9:30 am tomorrow (Wednesday) for plea.

The charges allege that on October 29, November 18 and November 29, 2013, the defendant, in three respective letters to the department store, falsely pretended to be an ICAC officer.

The department store had rendered full assistance to the ICAC during its investigation.
