ICAC Commissioner visits Mainland to foster anti-graft cooperation and exchanges

ICAC Commissioner Simon Peh Yun-lu today (Monday) commenced his five-day official visit to Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen for stepping up exchanges and fostering cooperation with Mainland’s anti-corruption and law enforcement agencies.

In Beijing today and tomorrow, Mr Peh, accompanied by Chief Staff Officer of the ICAC’s Centre of Anti-corruption Studies Daniel So Ping-hung, will visit the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council. They will also call on Mr Cao Jianming, Procurator General of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate and Mr Huang Shuxian, Minister of Supervision, to update them on the Commission’s work and learn about the latest development of Mainland’s anti-graft initiatives.

Mr Peh and Mr So will depart for Guangzhou on Wednesday, where they will call on Mr Zheng Hong, Chief Procurator of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Procuratorate (GDPP). Mr Peh and Mr So will then be joined by Director of Corruption Prevention Tse Man-Shing to meet Mr Zhong Shijian, Deputy Secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Director of the Supervision De partment to exchange views on preventive education. The ICAC delegation will also visit the local judicial authority and anti-corruption education facilities.

On Friday (September 26), Mr Peh, Mr So and Mr Tse will depart for Shenzhen where they will meet up with Director of Community Relations Julie Mu Fee-man, Director of Investigation (Private Sector) Ricky Yau Shu-chun, and Assistant Director (Administratio n) Raymond Ng Kwok-ming.

In Shenzhen, the delegation will call on Bai Xinchao, Chief Procurator of the Shenzhen Municipal People's Procuratorate and will visit the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone, as well as the Qianhai Anti-Corruption Bureau. They will also call on Qiu Hai, Secretary of Shenzhen Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection, to exchange experiences in anti-corruption work.

The delegation will return to Hong Kong on September 26.
