IO chairlady faces court for allegedly disclosing identity of person under ICAC probe

A chairlady of the incorporated owners (IO) of a residential estate appeared at the Eastern Magistracy today (Friday) after being charged by the ICAC for allegedly disclosing the identity of a person under ICAC investigation.

Tsui Kam-fun, 52, chairlady of the IO of Fullview Garden, who was charged on Wednesday (November 26), faced one count of disclosing the identity of a person being investigated, contrary to Section 30(1)(b) of the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance (POBO).

No plea was taken today. Principal Magistrate Ms Bina Chainrai adjourned the case to December 19 this year for mention.

At the material time, the defendant was the chairlady of the management committee of the IO of Fullview Garden, a residential estate in Siu Sai Wan.

The charge alleged that on March 7 this year, the defendant, knowing that an investigation in respect of an offence suspected to have been committed under Part II of the POBO was taking place, without lawful authority or reasonable excuse, disclosed to th e attendants of the IO’s meeting of Fullview Garden the name of a person who was the subject of such investigation.

The defendant was granted cash bail $2,000 and ordered not to interfere with prosecution witnesses.

The prosecution was today represented by ICAC officer Joan Wong.
