An ICAC delegation led by Commissioner Mr Peh Yun-lu this morning (February 10) departed for Malaysia where he will attend an international symposium and exchange anti-corruption experience with graft-fighting counterparts.

In Putrajaya, the delegation will attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Symposium on Gender Mainstreaming and Women Empowerment to Fight Corruption tomorrow (February 11). During his four-day visit, Mr Peh will take the opportunity to meet Madam Latheefa Koya, the new Chief Commissioner of Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission. He will also call on Mr Tan Sri Abu Kassim Mohamed, Director General of National Centre for Governance, Integrity and Anti-Corruption, to exchange each other’s latest anti-corruption initiatives.

The delegation will also meet with Mr Zuhairie Bin Abu Bakar, Deputy Director of Basic Training of Malaysia Anti-Corruption Academy, to discuss details of the upcoming International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA) Training Programme, which will be held in Malaysia in the second half of 2020, subsequent to the inaugural training programme took place in Hong Kong in May 2019.

Mr Peh is currently an Executive Committee member of the IAACA and Convenor of its Training Committee.

Before returning to Hong Kong, the ICAC delegation will pay a courtesy call on Mr Bai Tian, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Malaysia.
