A former manager of an outdoor advertising company has been charged by the ICAC today (June 1) with stealing production payments totalling over $34,000 from the company.
Lam Chi-keung, 56, former production manager of Murasaki Outdoor Master Limited (MOM), faces one count of theft, contrary to Section 9 of the Theft Ordinance.
The defendant will appear at the West Kowloon Magistrates’ Courts on Wednesday (June 3) for plea.
The case arose from a corruption complaint. Subsequent ICAC enquiries revealed the above alleged offence.
At the material time, the defendant was the production manager of MOM, which provided manufacturing services of printed outdoor advertising products, including posters, banners and backdrops. He was responsible for receiving orders from clients, issuing invoices, supervising production and arranging delivery.
Between November and December 2018, a client placed various orders worth totalling over $34,000 with MOM through the defendant.
The charge alleges that between January 1 and 16, 2019, the defendant stole over $34,000 in cash which was the property of MOM.
MOM has rendered full assistance to the ICAC during its investigation into the case.
The defendant has been released on ICAC bail, pending his court appearance on Wednesday.
