ICAC to launch opinion survey to gauge public’s views on anti-graft work
2020-6-24
The ICAC will kick start its annual opinion survey from this Friday (June 26) to gauge the public’s views on anti-graft work of the ICAC and their attitude towards corruption.
About 1,500 local residents, aged between 15 and 64, will be selected through random sampling for interviews to be conducted by an independent and professional research agency appointed by the ICAC.
“Over the years, the ICAC has engaged independent pollsters to conduct the opinion survey on an annual basis. The survey findings will serve as useful references for us when formulating and fine-tuning the Commission’s anti-corruption strategies,” said an ICAC spokesman.
Selected households will receive a notification letter from the ICAC. Interviewers of the independent research agency will visit the households between 10:00 am and 9:45 pm during the survey period for a face-to-face interview which will last about 10-15 minutes. Selected households are also welcome to call the research agency / ICAC to arrange for a telephone interview should they wish to maintain social distancing.
All interviewers will bear an authorisation letter issued by the ICAC as well as a staff identity card of the research agency for identification purposes.
All personal information and opinion collected will be compiled in aggregate for the ICAC Annual Survey. Completed questionnaires will be destroyed after the completion of the survey.
Details of the survey are available on the ICAC corporate website (www.icac.org.hk). Members of the public may also call the ICAC enquiry hotline 2826 3267 for enquiry between 10:00 am and 10:00 pm during the survey period.
