An arborist of a landscape architecture company and a freelance arborist have been charged by the ICAC today (Tuesday) with conspiracy for the arborist to accept illegal commissions totalling over $250,000 in relation to referral of tree survey services projects to the freelance arborist.

The ICAC’s Regional Office (Hong Kong East), located at Ground Floor, Tung Wah Mansion, 201 Hennessy Road, Wan Chai, will be temporarily closed for urgent renovation starting from tomorrow (June 28), and is expected to be reopened on August 5, 2016 (Friday). The ICAC apologises for any inconvenience caused to the public.

A legislator appeared in the Eastern Magistracy this (Friday) morning after being charged by the ICAC with one count of misconduct in public office.

A man, who returned to Hong Kong after absconding for over 14 years, has been charged by the ICAC today (Tuesday) with conspiring with other persons to defraud two electricity companies of over $465,000 in electricity charges by tampering with electricity meters of 18 commercial and residential premises.

Two musical instrument instructors have been charged by the ICAC today (Tuesday) with accepting over $12,000 in illegal rebates for referring their respective students to buy musical instruments from a supplier.

A teacher of a music company, charged by the ICAC, today (Monday) admitted at the Tsuen Wan Magistracy that she had accepted an illegal rebate of over $1,600 for referring a student to buy a violin from a supplier of musical instruments.

In response to media enquiries on a complaint received earlier by the ICAC Complaints Committee (ICC) against ICAC’s then Director of Community Relations, an ICAC spokesperson today (Wednesday) said:

Two former senior executives of a listed company and a businesswoman, charged by the ICAC, were today (Monday) sentenced to jail terms up to eight years and three months at the Court of First Instance for conspiracy to defraud in relation to the acquisition of dairy farms in New Zealand at NZ$500 million and laundering over HK$85 million being proceeds of the fraud scams.
