About the Hackathon
The Coding4Integrity Hackathon is co-hosted by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the Independent Commission Against Corruption of Hong Kong, China, and the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities. This event engages youth and promotes the use of technologies in fostering a culture of innovation in the fight against corruption.
Eligibility
Individual Requirements
- National of an Asian country/region
- Between 18 and 35 years old
- Able to commit to the entire Hackathon programme, i.e. online bootcamp (Jun 2025) and in-person Hackathon in Hong Kong (Sep 2025)
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Able to obtain relevant visa/permit for entering Hong Kong and the Mainland of China (We will offer assistance in visa/permit application if necessary)
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
- Coding skills and technological knowledge in developing solutions
- Strong presentation skills to effectively convey solution concepts
- Knowledge of UNODC Module Series on Anti-Corruption and UNODC Module Series on Integrity and Ethics (will be covered in the Bootcamp)
Team Composition
- A team of three members consisting of mixed gender to promote equality

Final Presentation Format
Selected teams will present their ideas to a judging panel of experts from relevant fields.
- Time Limit: 5 minutes (3-minute presentation, 2-minute Q&A)
- Supporting Tools: audio, video, animation, PowerPoint prototype, etc.
Evaluation Criteria
Three winning teams will be crowned with "Gold", "Silver" and "Bronze" awards based on the criteria below.
Relevance & Impact
Relevance to the challenge and thoroughness in understanding the problem; impact of the solution in addressing corruption, and other social and economic benefits.
Presentation Quality
Clarity, professionalism, and effectiveness of the presentation in communicating your solution; demonstration of good teamwork.
Technical Implementation
Use of relevant technologies and tools; completeness of the solution; functionality and user experience of the prototype.
Innovation & Creativity
Originality of the approach and creative problem-solving in addressing corruption challenges.
Feasibility & Scalability
Practicality of implementation and potential for scaling the solution to broader contexts.
Plus, three special awards will highlight exceptional achievements in the following areas at the Grand Finale.
Live polling by all audience attending the finale
Highest score in the "innovation and creativity" criterion
Highest combined score across the "technical implementation" and "feasibility and scalability" criteria
Prizes
The winning team of "Gold" award will have the opportunity to present the solution in a special event held in the margins of the 11th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption which will take place in Doha, Qatar, from 14 to 19 December 2025.
The top three winning teams ("Gold", "Silver" and "Bronze" awards) and the teams receiving the "Best Presentation", "Most Innovative Solution" and "Best Prototype" will receive a plaque as recognition.
Travel and accommodation will be provided.
