Closer ties to fight graft under B&R initiative

Forging partnership through exchanges

Forging partnership through exchanges

Since 2007, the Hong Kong ICAC has been a founding member of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA) – a non-governmental international organisation set up to promote co-operation in worldwide anti-corruption issues and foster the effective implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption.

In December 2018, ICAC Commissioner Mr Simon Peh Yun-lu, being an Executive Committee member of the IAACA and convenor of its Training Committee, attended the two committees’ meetings in Putrajaya, Malaysia to foster international exchanges in the fight against corruption.

At the meetings, Mr Peh presented the 7th ICAC Symposium, which would be jointly organised by the ICAC and World Justice Project in Hong Kong in May 2019. He also briefed members on an ICAC training programme co-organised with the IAACA following the Symposium. The programme would include a technical visit to ICAC’s facilities, workshops on investigation, system prevention, and community education and engagement.

This month, Mr Peh also attended the IAACA’s Annual Conference in Vienna, Austria to update members on the ICAC’s latest anti-corruption initiatives and discussed with members the organisation’s work plan in 2019.
