Forging international cooperation

To foster international exchange with anti-corruption and law enforcement counterparts worldwide, the ICAC and the World Justice Project will co-organise the 7th ICAC Symposium in Hong Kong from May 22-24 this year, themed “Fighting Corruption - A New Perspective”.

The Symposium aims at providing a platform for graft-busters and law enforcement officers of different jurisdictions to exchange and learn from each other the latest strategies and tactics to fight corruption in its totality.

Internationally recognised experts in the anti-corruption and related fields will gather together at the Symposium and share their wealth of experience, knowledge and insights. It is also an opportunity for participants and the organisations they represent to form lasting bonds and allies.

Apart from law enforcement agencies of different jurisdictions, representatives from various internationally well-known organisations, such as the World Justice Project, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, World Bank Group and Transparency International, are invited as keynote or panel speakers of the Symposium.

Sharing the Hong Kong experience

ICAC’s senior directorates will also share their expertise and anti-graft experience as panel speakers. Apart from law enforcement issues, the plenary sessions will also cover preventive education as well as community engagement.

The Symposium will be followed by a back-to-back training programme co-hosted by the ICAC and International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities which lasts for one and a half day. It will consist of a visit to the ICAC Building and workshops on enforcement, community education and engagement, and corruption prevention.
