The ICAC was the first among all government departments in Hong Kong to produce TV dramas for public education. The first TV drama series hit the screen back in 1976, about 46 years ago. The series were always well-received by Hong Kong citizens and have become a signature product of the Commission.

To mark the 25th anniversary of HKSAR, the latest TV drama series ICAC Investigators 2022 (in Cantonese only), jointly produced by the ICAC and the Television Broadcasts Limited in Hong Kong, was telecast in May this year.

Similar to past series, the five-episode drama production was adapted from real ICAC cases. Produced by award-winning movie director Dante Lam Chiu-yin, the series revealed the latest modus operandi of corruption crime in the business and public sectors, as well as in other industries such as construction, banking and education services.

ICAC Chief Mass Media Officer Anita Lo Heung-lan, who was also co-producer of the TV drama, said the latest series depicted not only graft cases but also the human side of ICAC investigators. They came from varied backgrounds and have different personalities, but they shared a common goal – to safeguard the fairness of the society through combatting corruption. And it was all about how they worked as a team and gave their best to the cause.

To enhance public understanding of the ICAC's investigative work, five seasoned investigators were picked to share their real-life experience at the end of each episode.

"We believe the drama series will continue to serve as an effective conduit for us to reach out to the general public, channel anti-graft messages and reinforce the ICAC's determination in safeguarding Hong Kong's probity culture and rule of law," said Ms Lo.
