Café "1974"

Established in 1974, the ICAC has remained steadfast in its mission to combat corruption for more than half a century. Hong Kong, once plagued by a morass of corruption, has now transformed into an internationally renowned city of probity. In commemoration of the ICAC's golden jubilee, we set up a café named "1974" inside the ICAC Building in 2024 and open it to the general public. This unique café, integrated with features of education and publicity, allows visitors to savour the signature "ICAC coffee" of Hong Kong, while exploring the ICAC's work up close in the ICAC Exhibition Hall. We warmly welcome you, whether from Hong Kong, the Mainland or abroad, to come and discover the resolute commitment and endeavours of the ICAC in fighting corruption.

Remarks: The opening hours will be adjusted according to the arrangement of special events, venue maintenance and inclement weather conditions, etc. Visitors are advised to check our website before the visit for the latest announcements.

Arrangements under Inclement Weather Conditions

Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above (including Pre-No. 8 Announcement)

  • If the signal is in force, the coffee bar and exhibition will remain closed.
  • If the signal is cancelled and conditions allow, the exhibition will resume service after 2 hours.
  • If the signal is cancelled at or after 3pm, the exhibition will remain closed.

Black Rainstorm Warning Signal, or "Extreme Conditions"

  • If the signal is issued during opening hours, the coffee bar and exhibition will remain open.
  • If the signal is in force before opening hours, the coffee bar and exhibition will remain closed.
  • If the signal is cancelled and conditions allow, the exhibition will resume service after 2 hours.
  • If the signal is cancelled at or after 3pm, the exhibition will remain closed.

  • Advance booking is not required.
  • Crowd control measures may be implemented if the maximum capacity is reached.

Visit Rules

Visitors to Café "1974" are requested to observe and comply with the following rules:

  • Children aged 12 or below must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or above.
  • Visitors shall follow the instructions of staff when entering and leaving the café. Unauthorised entry into other areas of the Building is prohibited.
  • No visitor parking is provided at the Building.
  • In the café, all forms of commercial activity related to the café are strictly prohibited. Such activities include, but are not limited to, publicising commercial advertisements, conducting commercial photography or filming, or using resources of the café for profit. If any such activities are noticed, café staff shall have the right to deny entry or terminate the visit immediately without prior notice.
  • Visitors shall not write upon, mark, soil or otherwise damage in any way whatever or destroy any wall, door, fitting or other thing in the café. Visitors shall indemnify the ICAC against any losses or damages of any fitting or other thing in the café, or any additional cost incurred to the café as a result of a breach of this rule. The indemnity shall equal to an amount that the ICAC considers sufficient to repair or replace such fitting or thing.
  • No protests or demonstrations are allowed inside or outside the café. The ICAC reserves the right to request anyone engaging in such acts to leave immediately. The incident may also be referred to the police when deemed necessary.
  • Without the permission of café staff, no banners, buntings, flyers or advertisements in any form shall be displayed, nor shall any promotional materials, souvenirs, or giveaway items be distributed in the café.
  • During photo shooting/video filming for private purposes, obstruction shall not be caused to others.
  • Visitors are reminded to take care of their personal belongings. The ICAC is not responsible for the safe custody of any personal belongings brought into or left in the café, nor does it accept any liability for the loss of any such belongings.
  • If any person acts or behaves in such a way that causes nuisance to other visitors, café staff shall have the right to terminate his/her visit and request him/her to leave immediately.
  • Visitors shall not use foul language or behave in a disorderly manner in the café.
  • The café is equipped with security cameras for surveillance and recording purposes.
  • Smoking is not allowed in the café.
  • No animals, except guide dogs, are allowed in the café.
  • All visitors admitted to the café shall comply with the above Rules to ensure a smooth experience. The café reserves the right to amend them without prior notice. The café also reserves the right to decide on the final interpretation of these Rules, and accept or refuse the admission of any persons.
