An account manager of a property agency has been charged by the ICAC today (December 8) with offering illegal commissions totalling about $130,000 to his supervisor for procuring three property transactions involving a total transaction price amounted to over $61.5 million.

A former insurance agent and four policyholders were charged by the ICAC yesterday (December 1) in three cases for defrauding an insurance company of commissions and compensation on medical expenses totalling over HK$130,000 by making false representations in their policy applications and insurance claims.

In view of the epidemic situation and to align with the government’s special work arrangements to reduce the risk of the spread of virus in the community, the ICAC today (December 1) announced that except those who are providing essential and emergency public services, all other ICAC staff will work from home starting from tomorrow (December 2).

A local wholesaler of musical instruments, its director cum shareholder and its sales director have been charged by the ICAC today (November 24) with offering illegal rebates totalling over $44,000 to five musical instrument instructors for referring students to purchase musical instruments from the wholesaler.

An employee of a subcontractor of the Highways Department (HyD) has been charged by the ICAC today (November 23) with conspiracy to defraud the HyD by submitting road inspection reports containing photographs with altered dates.

An operator of a frozen meat supplier, charged by the ICAC, was today (November 19) sentenced to 30 months’ imprisonment at the District Court after being convicted of offering illegal rebates totalling over $860,000 to chefs of a Chinese restaurant and three hotels in relation to porklings supplied by his company.
