The proprietor of an air-condition engineering company, charged by the ICAC, was today (October 12) convicted at the West Kowloon Magistracy of having conspired with a then assistant project manager of another engineering firm for the latter to accept illegal rebates of about $200,000 for recommending air-condition piping works of a commercial complex to his company.

A director-cum-shareholder of a garment company, who was wanted for over nine years, was brought to the Tuen Mun Magistracy today (October 10) after being charged by the ICAC with defrauding a bank of a loan of about million under the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Loan Guarantee Scheme.

A former assistant admissions officer of an international school and her husband, charged by the ICAC, were today (October 9) sentenced to jail terms up to 34 months for defrauding and attempting to defraud three parents of donations totalling $3.6 million in relation to the admission of their children to the school, and laundering the related crime proceeds respectively.

An Immigration Assistant of the Immigration Department (ImmD), charged by the ICAC, was today (September 12) convicted at the Eastern Magistracy of defrauding the ImmD of a salary advance in the sum of over $32,000.

Two former employees of a Japanese fast food restaurant chain, charged by the ICAC, were today (September 11) sentenced to jail terms up to eight months in separate cases at the Tuen Mun Magistracy for offering and accepting $24,000 in bribes respectively, and conspiracy to defraud the restaurant chain of sales revenue amounting to at least $52,000.
