A former chauffeur of an interior design company, charged by the ICAC, was today (February 26) convicted at the Shatin Magistracy of soliciting and accepting bribes of $10,000 in relation to the sale of a sports car at an asking price of $1.3 million.

A former senior executive of a bank and an investor, charged by the ICAC, were today (February 26) each sentenced to 45 months’ imprisonment at a re-trial in the Court of First Instance (CFI) for accepting and offering about $6.4 million in bribes respectively in relation to the trading of derivative warrants issued by the bank.

Three chefs of three Chinese restaurants and two food suppliers have been charged by the ICAC today (February 26) with respectively conspiracy to accept and offering illegal rebates totalling over $120,000 in relation to placing orders of food items.

The Chief Telecommunications Engineer of the Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF), charged by the ICAC, admitted at the Eastern Magistracy today (February 12) that he had used a false document to mislead the government into granting him a downpayment loan and home financing allowances totalling over $1.9 million.

The ICAC today (Friday) hosted an exchange session for more than 50 consul generals and consuls from 45 consulates in Hong Kong, during which the visitors were briefed on the city’s probity environment as well as the Commission’s proposal to step up international cooperation by offering training assistance to overseas anti-corruption agencies.
