A former senior engineer of a subcontractor in a Highways Department (HyD) project, charged by the ICAC, was today (Wednesday) sentenced to one year’s imprisonment at the District Court for fraud over the construction of the Castle Peak Road – New Tai Lam Section (the project).

A former dim sum chef of a Chinese restaurant, charged by the ICAC, was today (Tuesday) sentenced to six months’ imprisonment at Eastern Magistracy for deceiving wages by punching the time card of a kitchen staff who no longer worked at the restaurant.

An honorary voting member of the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), charged by the ICAC, was today (Thursday) sentenced to two years’ imprisonment at the District Court for soliciting and accepting advantages totalling $450,000 in relation to an application for the membership of HKJC.
