Selection Process
- Candidates who have not taken or not attained a pass result in the relevant Basic Law and National Security Law Test (BLNST) may still apply for the job and take either the Digitalised BLNST organised by the Civil Service Bureau or the relevant BLNST arranged by ICAC during the recruitment process.
Chinese & English Language Test
- Candidates will be given questions related to current affairs, one in Chinese and another in English, and are required to answer all questions (such as the benefits and drawbacks, challenges, possible solutions) within 2 hours.
Aptitude Test
- Candidates are required to answer 38 multiple-choice questions within 45 minutes.
- Leadership (Cantonese): With given time and resources, candidates are required to lead his team to maximize team effectiveness for accomplishing a designated task.
- Management Exercise (Cantonese): Candidates will be designated to a scenario and given a management problem or a crisis to solve in a group discussion.
- Impromptu Talk (English): Candidates are required to give a 3-minute presentation on a randomly drawn English statement with no preparation allowed.
- Candidates are required to complete a 15m Progressive Aerobic Cardiovascular Endurance Run, Grip Strength Test, 1-minute Push-ups and 1-minute Sit-ups for evaluation of their Cardiorespiratory endurance and core muscular strength (Details of demonstration video clips and score table at Tips)
- Candidates are required to answer 240 multiple choice questions within 1 hour.
Subject to passing the initial assessment stages, candidates will be invited to attend an Interview Board, in which their suitability is to be further evaluated on multiple aspects such as –
- Values and Vision
- Personality and Motivation
- Acumen and Analytical Ability
- Communication and Teamwork
- Leadership and Management Potential
- Social Awareness and Resourcefulness in Technologies
A pass result in BLNST is an entry requirement for all ICAC jobs.
BLNST comprises 20 multiple-choice questions in both Chinese and English. Candidates will attain a pass result by answering at least 10 out of 20 questions correct within –
- 30 minutes in a degree level paper for all candidates; or
- 35 minutes in a non-degree level paper for ACACO candidates.
Candidates who have not taken or not attained a pass result in the relevant BLNST may still apply for the job and take –
- the Digitalised BLNST organised by the Civil Service Bureau: A pass result attained, with valid proof provided when attending the selection interview, is acceptable for meeting the BLNST requirement for all ICAC jobs; or
- the relevant BLNST arranged by ICAC: It will be conducted during the recruitment process (e.g. on the same day of any of the above assessment stages). A pass result is acceptable for the post(s) applied for.
