The ICAC last Friday (May 14) charged a former manager of an insurance company with laundering over $640,000 in crime proceeds in relation to the sale of insurance products.

Two then volunteers of a resident association in Sham Shui Po were today (May 13) convicted at the West Kowloon Magistrates’ Courts of offering “lucky bags” to induce fellow residents to vote for a particular candidate at the 2018 Legislative Council (LegCo) By-election.

A former senior executive of an aircraft management services company, charged by the ICAC, was today (May 12) sentenced to 34 months’ imprisonment after admitting at the District Court that he had accepted at least about HK$600,000 from a ground service provider for engaging the latter’s service and assisting it to recover outstanding service fees.

An Inspector of the Customs and Excise Department (C&E), charged by the ICAC, was today (May 11) convicted at the Eastern Magistrates’ Courts of soliciting an unauthorised loan of $50,000 from a subordinating Customs Officer and accepting the sum from a friend of the latter.

The ICAC today (May 11) charged a former security supervisor of a public housing estate and her daughter with conspiracy to defraud a property management company of salary payments totalling about $37,000 by falsely representing that the daughter had worked as a security guard at the estate.

A then bank employee, charged by the ICAC, was today (May 7) sentenced to three weeks’ imprisonment at the Eastern Magistrates’ Courts after pleading guilty to a bribery charge in relation to customer’s confidential information from another bank for business touting.

The ICAC yesterday (May 4) charged five property agents with using a false sale and purchase agreement and eight false tenancy agreements to mislead a property agency.

A cleaning services provider of a private residential building, charged by the ICAC, today (May 4) admitted at the Eastern Magistrates’ Courts that he had offered bribes to a garbage truck driver for collecting additional garbage.

The ICAC today (May 3) charged a Superintendent of Police with deceiving the Government and a bank into granting him housing and mortgage loans totalling about $6 million for purchasing a flat by concealing that it was let out to others and falsely representing that it was used by his family.

A former treasurer of the incorporated owners of a private residential building in Sham Shui Po has been charged by the ICAC today (April 29) with deceiving the incorporated owners into paying service fees for almost 14 years totalling about $165,000 by falsely representing that a part-time clerk was employed.
