A former manager of a mortgage broker, charged by the ICAC, today (February 14) admitted at the Eastern Magistracy that she had offered illegal commissions totalling about $24,000 to five then property agents of a property agency in relation to referral of clients for mortgage services.

Two former managers of a Japanese fast food restaurant chain have been charged by the ICAC today (February 13) with offering and accepting bribes totalling $56,000 respectively, and conspiracy to defraud the restaurant chain by inputting inaccurate sales records into its cashier computer system.

An estate manager of a property management company appeared in the Shatin Magistracy today (February 10) after being charged by the ICAC with defrauding the company of year-end bonuses totalling over $270,000 by falsifying his attendance records.

A government driver appeared in the Eastern Magistracy today (February 9) after being charged by the ICAC with defrauding the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) of overtime (OT) allowance totalling over $12,800 by submitting false claim forms.

A hawker, charged by the ICAC, was sentenced to two months’ imprisonment at the Kowloon City Magistracy today (February 8) for vote-rigging at the 2011 Yau Tsim Mong District Council (DC) Election (King’s Park Constituency) after a re-trial.

The ICAC will send out an information leaflet to help Election Committee members as electors in the upcoming Chief Executive (CE) Election and candidates’ supporters to better understand the electoral law when they cast their votes and participate in electioneering activities respectively.

A former vice president of a bank has been charged by the ICAC with soliciting illegal commissions of about $920,000 in total from a client for handling securities transactions conducted in her accounts with the bank.
