A former district director of an insurance company, charged by the ICAC, was today (October 28) convicted at the District Court of having defrauded the company of a signing fee amounting to over $4.4 million with false income-proof documents.

A former deputy manager of a mahjong school, charged by the ICAC, was today (October 27) sentenced to eight months’ imprisonment at the Kowloon City Magistracy for accepting a total of $75,000 as bribes for exchanging and/or assisting in the exchange of mahjong tiles.

A waiter and two other persons, charged by the ICAC, were today (October 26) sentenced to jail terms up to four years for conspiracy to accept a bribe of up to $200,000 for getting one of them to stand as a candidate at the 2015 District Council (DC) Election, and offering at least $850,000 as bribes to five other persons for getting candidates to stand at the election.

A former sales representative of two plastic raw material trading companies and a proprietor of another trading firm, charged by the ICAC, today (October 25) admitted at the District Court that they had conspired together to defraud the two trading companies of over $120 million worth of purchase orders.

A family of four appeared in court today (Saturday) after being charged by the ICAC with fraud by subletting a public rental housing (PRH) unit without paying a premium to the Housing Department (HD) and obtaining another PRH unit by deceit respectively.

A former facilities manager of a media company has been charged by the ICAC with fraud in relation to the award of over $19 million worth of works orders to a company owned by his father without declaration.
