A former Police Sergeant has been charged by the ICAC today (July 2) with accepting two unauthorised loans totalling $40,000 from a security guard of a contractor providing security services at a police office building.

A supervisor of a property management company has been charged by the ICAC today (June 28) with conspiracy for a former cleaning worker to accept bribes from a food manufacturer tenant of an industrial building for discarding its massive garbage.

A former supervisor of a hotel, charged by the ICAC, admitted at the West Kowloon Magistracy today (June 27) that he had conspired with the operators of a frozen meat supplier to accept illegal rebates totalling about $24,000 in relation to the supply of foods to the hotel.

In response to media enquiries, an ICAC spokesperson confirmed that the ICAC and the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) have mounted a joint operation codenamed “Cold Mountain”, commencing on Sunday (June 23). During the operation, the offices of two sponsors, both licensees of the SFC, were jointly searched by the ICAC and the SFC.

A former assistant manager of a logistics company, charged by the ICAC, was today (June 21) sentenced to 32 months’ imprisonment at the District Court after pleading guilty to defrauding the company of airfreight order payments totalling over $1.6 million.

A former chief financial analysis manager of a financial intermediary, charged by the ICAC, was today (June 19) sentenced to 10 months’ imprisonment at the District Court for conspiring with a former direct sales representative of a bank to deceive the bank into granting a loan of over $100,000 to an applicant referred by the financial intermediary.

A candidate of the 2019 Rural Representative Election (Resident Representative), charged by the ICAC, admitted at the Kwun Tong Magistracy today (June 18) that he had falsely declared his principal residential address and that of three subscribers in a nomination form which also contained forged signatures of two of the subscribers.

A former marketing executive of a stationery trading company, charged by the ICAC, was today (June 17) sentenced to 30 months’ imprisonment at the District Court for deceiving his employers into paying over $8.6 million to a trading firm owned by his family members for products purportedly supplied by an electronics company on the Mainland.
