ICAC Commissioner Dr Timothy Tong Hin-ming today (Monday) issued the following statement:

A former chairman and a former executive director of publicly listed Grand Field Group Holdings Limited (Grand Field), charged by the ICAC, have been convicted at the District Court of conspiracy to defraud shareholders of the company and the Stock Exchan ge of Hong Kong (SEHK) in relation to a bogus joint venture in a gas pipeline project in Chongqing, the Mainland.

Three real estate agents and a property vendor, charged by the ICAC, were today (Friday) respectively jailed and ordered to perform community service at Shatin Magistracy for bribery over the transaction of a property worth over $1.5 million.

A seafood supplier and four former chefs of three restaurants have been charged by the ICAC for offering and accepting bribes totalling about $46,000 for placing food orders.

Former Senior Member of the Executive Council Baroness Dunn today (Thursday) visited the ICAC for an update of Hong Kong’s latest anti-corruption efforts.

A man was today (Wednesday) charged by the ICAC for his alleged role in a conspiracy for a senior executive of the Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (HAECO) to accept illegal commissions in relation to the awarding of HAECO’s contracts.

A Senior Inspector of Police (SIP) has been charged by the ICAC for misconduct in public office for allegedly abusing his official capacity to obtain and divulge privileged information, relating to a suspected fraud case he was handling, to a civilian for him to carry out a private investigation as suggested by the SIP.
