The ICAC today (Saturday) launched a new advertising campaign entitled Dare to Speak to encourage the public to speak up when they come across any suspected corruption.

A former employee of Hong Kong Disneyland (Disneyland), charged by the ICAC, was today (Friday) sentenced to 16 weeks’ imprisonment at Tsuen Wan Magistracy for accepting advantages for admitting various persons into the theme park by abusing his staff privilege.

An unemployed man was today (Friday) charged by the ICAC for attempting to solicit and accept advantages from a candidate of the 2007 District Council (DC) Election for securing votes for the latter.

A director of a travel agency, charged by the ICAC, was today (Thursday) sentenced to seven months’ imprisonment at Eastern Magistracy for accepting illegal commissions totalling over $290,000 for arranging inbound tours to visit the showrooms of a listed jewellery chain’s subsidiary.

The ICAC has charged a former senior finance executive of a listed telecommunications company and a former senior partner of an accounting firm for alleged conspiracy to defraud the listed company of over $430,000 in accounting service fees.
