A former welder of an engineering company has been charged by the ICAC with soliciting and accepting illegal referral fees or “tea money” of $2,100 in total for referring two men to work as welders for the company.

A woman, charged by the ICAC, was today (September 24) sentenced to five months’ imprisonment at the Eastern Magistracy after admitting that she had made a false report to the anti-corruption agency against police officers for alleged corruption in handling her drug trafficking case.

A former senior merchandising manager of a knitwear manufacturing company has been charged by the ICAC today (September 18) with fraud by falsely representing that accessories were required from two suppliers on the Mainland, thereby inducing the company to approve payments totalling Renminbi 1.7 million to the suppliers.

Two former staff members of an air-conditioning contractor of the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) have been charged by the ICAC today (September 12) with defrauding the EMSD of salary payments totalling over $180,000 by using false attendance records.

A site supervisor of a construction engineering company has been charged by the ICAC today (August 30) with using documents containing false statements to deceive the company into granting reimbursement of entertainment expenses totalling over $133,000 to him.
