In response to media enquiries, an ICAC spokesperson confirmed that the ICAC and the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) have mounted a joint operation codenamed “Cold Mountain”, commencing on Sunday (June 23). During the operation, the offices of two sponsors, both licensees of the SFC, were jointly searched by the ICAC and the SFC.

A former salesperson of a marble supplier has been charged by the ICAC today (June 12) with conspiracy to defraud three customers by inflating the prices quoted for purchases of marbles and pocketing the price differences totalling over $1.8 million.

A Supplies Supervisor of the Government Logistics Department (GLD) and a labourer of a cleaning contractor have been charged by the ICAC today (June 10) with conspiracy to defraud the contractor of wages totalling over $9,000 paid to the labourer despite her unauthorised leave, while the Supplies Supervisor also faces charges of using false documents to conceal the unauthorised leave, causing the Government to pay over $14,000 to the contractor.
