Superintendent Y (D1)
An "anti-triad hero" of the Police who was in his fifties with an aspiration of becoming a policeman since childhood. He joined the police force not until at the age of 32 because he had emigrated with his family in his early years. Holding a qualification in criminology, he became a Chief Inspector of Police in 2008 and was promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police at the Organised Crime and Triad Bureau (OCTB) in 2014, and was subsequently transferred to the Crime Hong Kong Island Regional Headquarters in 2015. During his service with the Police, he gained high recognition and respect from his superiors and subordinates for having successfully cracked down a number of important cases and was even given an acting appointment as Senior Superintendent of Police in 2015. In order to show off his influential status in the police force, he would entertain his former subordinates at private clubs even after his departure from OCTB. He also established an extensive network with prominent personalities, and spent nights of entertainment with them once or twice a week. Fathering a son and a daughter, he cared about his family and had a good relationship with his wife. He himself was not at all a spendthrift.
Club Licence Holder/Manager (D2)
As one of the operators of the Club in his forties, he was also the Club's licence holder cum manager responsible for the management of the Club's affairs and business. Though not being the "real boss", he was the one to attend to all the Club matters, including meeting Superintendent Y personally for discussions of issues and details. He was the major operator of the Club holding its shares and accountable to other shareholders for the company's business. Though not being a triad member, he had acquaintances with people of triad background.
Club Deputy Manager (D3)
A decent man who was tall of stature in his thirties. Once worked as a model, he was a friend of the Club owner behind the curtain and the sworn son of the owner's business partner, and therefore became one of the Club operators holding its shares. As the Club Deputy Manager, he mainly handled the Club's frontline business and basic operations and played a supporting role in the meeting with the Club Manager and Superintendent Y. Though not being a triad member, he had acquaintances with people of triad background.
Private Club
An upscale, extravagant and prestigious private club in the Wan Chai which mainly served distinguished guests. Operated under a closed membership referral system, the Club offered high privacy service to its members. Owned by a wealthy merchant from the Mainland of China, the Club under the protection of triad members provided hostess service, with its new branch further engaged in selling liquor without licence and vice activities. Having a high-spending clientele with an average spending of about thirty or forty thousand dollars for each customer, the Club had been running a highly lucrative business.
