This workshop will provide an overview of the current innovative technology deployed by the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) of Hong Kong, China in fighting corruption. With the fast evolvement of new technology, the workshop will also offer a glimpse into the long-term strategy adopted by the ICAC in applying new technology in enforcement work. Participants will gain insights into artificial intelligence, machine learning, virtual reality and other game-changing technologies applied in enforcement work through interactive presentations, live demonstrations, case studies and exchange of experiences.

The workshop comprises two sessions. The first session introduces the Digital Corruption Prevention Framework, which is devised by the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) of Hong Kong, China providing, among others, guiding principles for anti-corruption authorities (ACAs) to guide public sector to adopt information and communication technology (ICT) solutions to enhance corruption prevention and work efficiency at different stages in the digitalisation process. The session also offers a few glimpses into the current innovative technologies and ongoing digital initiatives adopted by the ICAC to facilitate corruption prevention work for ACAs' reference. The second session involves case study activities, aiming to explore leveraging digital technologies to strengthen internal controls in public procurement in Hong Kong. Through the lectures and case studies, participants, particularly those from ACAs, could acquire practical skills in advocating for the adoption of digital transformation to elevate governance, reinforce controls, and prevent corruption across different sectors within their regions.

The workshop will introduce how the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) of Hong Kong, China utilises appropriate platforms to establish online communities, with the objective of supporting the anti-corruption cause. Participants will gain valuable insights into the educational and publicity strategies employed by the ICAC, encompassing conceptualisation, content development, and fostering active engagement within online communities. The workshop will also showcase vivid examples and successful case studies that highlight ICAC's innovative products and activities, catering to diverse target groups across various sectors of society.
